Strategic alliance between MECOM and ubitricity

ubitricity makes the first step towards providing EV charging and billing solutions for the Greater Bay Area and China

Berlin, 15th September 2020: MECOM Power and Construction Limited, and ubitricity Gesellschaft für verteilte Energiesysteme mbH collaborate for a strategic alliance for EV charging and billing solutions. The EV charging and billing solutions will be based on ubitricity’s patented Mobile Metering and intelligent charging technology and MECOM’s strong expertise as an engineering and construction leader.

MECOM and ubitricity join forces by tasking a mutual project team with selected industry experts to drive forward the roll-out of EV charging and billing solutions in the electric mobility industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.
The Greater Bay Area in the Pearl River Delta includes eleven cities such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Hong Kong, and Macau with a combined population of over 69 million people. As the designated green tech megacity of the APAC region, it covers 15% of China’s GDP and is home to China’s biggest producers for New Energy Vehicles (NEV). At the same time, it is one of the world’s leading regions for EV adaption and the electrification of mobility.
