How to charge at fast chargers in Netherlands


Welcome to the user manual for fast charge points in Netherlands. Below you will find separate information on charging with RFID card / tag or Mobility App as well as ad-hoc charging via QR code / NFC.

Option 1: Charging with RFID card / tag or Mobility App


Use your RFID Card / Tag or your Mobility App as usual. The prerequisite is that your EMSP (E-Mobility Service Provider) supports our Shell Recharge charging points. The tariffs of your EMSP apply. Billing takes place as usual via your account with your EMSP.

Step 1 – (START)

Hold your charging card near the RFID reader (black rectangle, above the right cable connector) or select the charging station in your E-Mobility App.

Step 2

The LED should show a green colour. Connect the charging cable to the available charging point (1), then to the car (2).

Step 3

The charging session starts (light blue) and the car is charging (dark blue).

Step 4 – (STOP)

Hold the charge card at the RFID reader or stop the session in the app. The LED changes to light blue and then green.

    Step 5

    Unlock your car. The, first remove the charging cable from the charging point (1), then from your car (2).

    Option 2: Ad-hoc charging via QR-Code/NFC


     

    • If you do not have an account with an E-Mobility Service Provider (EMSP), simply use the QR code / NFC tag above one of the two charge points to authorise the charging process.
    • To do so, follow the instructions on the mobile website after scanning the QR code / NFC tag.
    • The rates per kWh are displayed online before payment (Apple Pay / Google Pay / credit card). Payment is made after the charging process.

    Step 1 – (START)

    Scan the QR code or NFC tag (both located under the charging sockets) with your phone.

    (Note: Each of the two charging sockets has an individual QR code / NFC tag).

    Step 2

    The LED should show a green colour. Connect the charging cable to the available charging point (1), then to the car (2).

    Step 3

    Follow the instructions on your phone, enter your payment details (credit card / Apple Pay / Google Pay) and start the charging process (the LED turns green).

    Step 4

    The charging session starts (light blue) and the car is charging (dark blue).
